Tapawera Settle is ideally placed for tramping, fishing, kayaking, swimming, horse riding, hunting, gold panning, golf, cycling …... and even some seasonal skiing !  We offer full assistance on all of the above, and have established links to top local experts for the serious enthusiasts amongst you.

Wangapeka Track  
The Wangapeka is one of New Zealands remotest tracks, and it is certainly one of the most awesome.  We are the closest campground to the east side access and for our motel guests we offer courtesy transport to/from the track and free vehicle/pack storage. The more challenging tracks Mt Owen and Leslie Karamea are both close by.

Mount Arthur Track and The Tablelands  
Mt Arthur track offers stunning views over Tasman Bay and Golden Bay, and the inland valleys and ranges to the south. This and Tapaweras’ own Shedwood track require only a minimum level of fitness for such a vast reward.
 

Trout Fishing  
The Motueka, Wangapeka and Motupiko rivers offer some of the best trout fishing in the world, and several good spots are within walking distance of the park. Local experts, maps and information are all here if required. 
 

River Recreation  
There are a number of safe swimming holes within easy walking distance of the park, and kayaking, gold panning or just gentle walking is all at your doorstep. 

 

Area Activities  
There are also many other activities available around Tapawera, including horse riding, golf, cycling, skiing or just healthy relaxation in the warm climate here at the top of New Zealands beautiful south island.
